About us

SCOO (Sailing Club of Oriental) is located in Oriental, the Sailing Capital of North Carolina.  SCOO is first and foremost a Cruising Club.  Each sailing season (April to November), SCOO sponsors overnight cruises to destinations throughout the region including South River near the mouth of the Neuse River, Ocracoke Island in Pamlico Sound, Cape Lookout, Beaufort and Morehead City, New Bern, Washington and Bath on the Pamlico River, and Belhaven on the Pungo River.  We also have at least one longer cruise each year in the spring (2-3 week's duration) to the Chesapeake Bay and around the Albemarle Loop.
