Vandemere Cruise and Potluck - Come by Land or Sea

Vandermere Waterfront Park, 36 Griffin Rd. Vandemere, NC
Location: By boat the town of Vandemere is located about 3 miles from the ICW on the Bay River. If arriving by car it is approximately 18 miles from Oriental via NC 55 and NC 304N.
Overview: This overnight event will be held at the Vandemere Waterfront Park and is planned for SCOO members arriving by cruising or driving to the event. It is not easy to find a spot that can accommodate both cruisers and folks who wish to arrive by car with plenty of parking. There are slips for smaller vessels and room to anchor and dinghy ashore. The Vandemere Waterfront Park has been continuously improved over the past few years. Depending on the number of participants we will use one of their pavilions for the Potluck. The largest pavilion has 8 picnic tables, electricity and a large charcoal grill. There are brand new restrooms (no showers). Docking Details: There are 6 available slips (no elec. or water) at a flat rate of $25 for the night:
Slips 1, 2,& 3 are - Water depth: about 6 feet, Slip size: about 13 feet wide
Slips 4, 5 & 6 are - Water depth: about 6 feet, Slip size: about 10 feet wide

Potluck: Please bring a potluck item – main, side or dessert, BYOB (non-alcoholic). Vandemere does not allow alcohol in the park.
There are picnic tables. Also bring bring a chair. Those arriving by car plan to arrive around 3 to 4.
** Please remember no pets allowed when food is being served.
Calling all musically inclined: SCOO has a number of talented vocalists and musicians! Bring your voices and instruments for a jam/singalong session! Anyone wishing to bring an instrument but concerned about it in a dinghy, let us know and we can arrange to bring it.
